Poetic License Sonoma, a group of 8 poets read each month at Sebastopol Center for the Arts Fourth Tuesday Zoom Poetry Series. Though often a solitary pursuit, the writing of poetry, like all artistic forms of communication, is nurtured through the collaboration and support of others. They encourage and celebrate this form of artistry in our region, and beyond, through poetry readings, like this one; the publication of their work; and a steady stream of new writing.
Bio: Kat Crawford is a native San Franciscan and currently lives in Tiburon, California, with her husband. She received her Masters’ degree in Poetry from Dominican University in 2019. Her work has been published by Creative Woman, Nomad’s Choir, Spillway, Marin Poetry Center Anthology and Tuxedo at Dominican University. All of It , a 2021 publication by Fishing Line Press is available at www.finishinglinepress.com/product/all-of-it-by-kat-crawford
In this “great flood of the world and its contents,” emerging poet of the highest water Kat Crawford offers image after astounding image, each clear as a precision-cut gem. At once vulnerable and courageous, earthy and transcendent, this collection is a weaving of uncanny odes and deep remembrances, timely urgencies and visionary dreams. Crawford invites us into a sacred realm where “everything counts.” When she asks in the opening and title poem, “Can you stay for awhile?” my heart leaps to answer: Yes! –Prartho Sereno, author of Indian Rope Trick and Elephant Raga, founder of the online writing workshop, Poetic Pilgrimage: Poem-Making as Spiritual Practice. www.prarthosereno.com

Poetic License Sonoma is a recently formed group of eight Sonoma County poets grateful to have met through an inspirational class in the Santa Rosa Junior College Older Adult Program. Though often a solitary pursuit, the writing of poetry, like all artistic forms of communication, is nurtured through the collaboration and support of others. We wish to encourage and celebrate this form of artistry in our region, and beyond, through poetry readings, like this one; the publication of our work; and a steady stream of new writing.
