A night of poetry: Local poets and live music. We are excited to present poetry readings highlighted by Larry Robinson, with music by John Christian.
These 3 amigos answer the question: "Why put on a poetry show in Sebastopol?"
Ernie Carpenter: "I was home waiting for someone to call, for me to read the poetry I was writing. No one called. The phone never rang. It occurred to me the only way I was going to read poetry was to sponsor a reading."
Hilary Moore: "Ernie and I met and read some of our poems to each other …. a spot of connection during the depths of the Pandemic. It seemed like a good idea to go public."
Larry Robinson: "Our world is in peril. Poetry may be the only way to save it now."

Poetic License Sonoma is a recently formed group of eight Sonoma County poets grateful to have met through an inspirational class in the Santa Rosa Junior College Older Adult Program. Though often a solitary pursuit, the writing of poetry, like all artistic forms of communication, is nurtured through the collaboration and support of others. We wish to encourage and celebrate this form of artistry in our region, and beyond, through poetry readings, like this one; the publication of our work; and a steady stream of new writing.
