ART SPOTS with Linda Loveland Reid: Conceptual Art Explosion

from $10.00
Out of Stock

Wednesday January 12th

10:30-12 noon

The latest in a series of lectures by Instructor Linda Loveland Reid

Were any of us ready for Conceptual Art, using our brain over our eyes? Where did it come from and how can we learn to live with it? How do we understand a Basquiat or Joan Mitchell? Why were artists now rendering 20-feet canvases of solid red paint? Did the advance of Minimalism herald the death of art? Learn how the Bay Area Poetry Renaissance promoted Funk and Beat works. Artists will include Andy Warhol, Jay DeFeo, Hockney, Joan Brown and more.

Linda Loveland Reid has been an OLLI instructor for both Sonoma State and Dominican Universities. She holds a B.A. in History and Art History from SSU, graduating cum laude. Other interests include published novels, figurative and abstract oil painting, and directing community theater. Linda is chair of the SSU OLLI Art Club with over 200 members. LindaLovelandReid.com
