Colored Slip Newsprint Transfers with Clay

Located in Painting/Drawing Studio
This class will cover the process of colored slip transfers onto clay.
The various methods include underglazed lines, brushed with slip on newsprint. commercial newsprint transfers and tissue transfers.
Participants will practice these transfers on a plate that will be formed on a GR pottery form.
Once bisque fired the pieces will have an underglaze wash and clear glaze applied.
About the Instructor: Jacci Summers fills most of her time working as a graphic designer and a ceramic artist. Her pottery exploration provides a great escape from the computer screen to a much more tactile experience. Another great interest of hers is bookbinding. She is often able to use her graphic design experience to translate creative ideas to the art of ceramics and bookbinding.
