YSAC: Amiot Style Junk Art (Ages 8-12)

Patrick Amiot and Meryl Juniper, with their long history of being Sonoma County ReUse Artists, collaborate on a super fun ReUse Arts Exploration.
After an inspirational field trip to Patrick's Sebastopol studio, campers will learn how one person's trash is the other's treasure.
During this week, campers will create High Relief Frames and Pictures, DriftWood Animals and Mosaic Wall Hangings, all made with found materials.
Please bring a brown bag lunch. Complimentary snacks will be provided by SebArts, 12pm-1pm on each day.
About the Instructor: Meryl Juniper
Following the path of Practice, Passion and Play, Meryl Juniper, holds a BFA from San Francisco Art institute. Her 6 decades of Visual Art, Dance and Musical Expressions, intertwine within 5 decades of MultiMedia Master Arts Education and Collaborative Art Installation Projects. Meryl is a longtime Local Artist, spearheading art programs and teaching within them at Oak Grove Elementary, Willowside Middle along with Sally Briggs at Apple Blossom Elementary and positions at Bodega Bay and Tomales Elementary Schools. In addition, Meryl held a 20 year run of Arts Education here at Center for the Arts in past decades. She ignites and delicately encourages a supportive environment where artistic expression and hands-on inspired creative process thrives!

Patrick Amiot and his wife Brigitte Laurent live and work in Sebastopol. Their junk art and wall reliefs are a collaborative effort of ideas and talents. Their expressive wit and ingenuity, adorn many yards and gateways in Sonoma County and beyond! Jointly conceived; Patrick sculpts and Brigitte paints. This work inspires many to create from found materials, bringing to life what once was sitting in a pile of UnUsable items, now finds its way to express with ReUse these bright joyful characters of their large scale sculptures!
