Throughout the course, there will also be wheel throwing demonstrations that will give students a hands-on opportunity to explore the potter’s wheel.

About the Instructor: Brian Baker earned his BFA and MFA from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a concentration in ceramics & ceramic sculpture. He went on to teach ceramics and 3D design at the University of Missouri, Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland Institute College of Art and Sierra College before deciding to choose a path in natural building. He eventually found a home at Sunridge School in Sebastopol as the woodworking teacher before finally making his way to Credo High School. Brian also runs The COB Project, a sustainable community development project based around building and using earthen, wood-fired ovens. Since 2002, he has been working non-stop as an artist and educator in various capacities. He has worked with both children as well as adults in a variety of educational settings. For Brian, the best part of teaching is building those personal connections through sharing knowledge that might help people live richer, fuller lives.
