In gratitude to our First Responders, Sebastopol Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a free therapeutic art workshop for Sonoma County’s First Responders, their families, and those effected by the stressful events of late October. Art therapy provides a way to help individuals suffering from trauma by communicating and expressing themselves through artistic mediums, such as painting, drawing and sculpture. The mere act of creating artwork has been shown to reduce stress levels regardless of skill level. This workshop will help participants use art media, the creative process and the resulting artwork to explore their feelings, reduce anxiety and foster self-awareness. No experience is necessary to participate or to benefit from the healing power of creative expression. SCA instructors will be on hand for guidance during the session. Art supplies will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty. All children under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
Space is limited. Register below or call (707) 829-4797 to register by phone during business hours Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
