Classes for 2017

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Prior to one week before start of class will be refunded or transferred, minus a $15 processing fee for each transfer or cancellation. (Transfer is good for one year.) Cancellation less than on week prior to first day of class or after class begins will not receive a refund or transfer. If the Sebastopol Center for the Arts cancels a class, you will receive a full refund.


The Bija Children's Choir

The Bija Children's Choir is a 501c3 nonprofit program dedicated to educating and inspiring young people who love to sing, as well as enriching the community through quality multicultural performances.  Bija is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning seed of creation, which represents the Bija Choir's mission of sowing seeds of musical capability, confidence, and creativity among Sonoma County's youth.  Classes are held weekly Sept - June, leveled by age and ability, with no auditions for beginners.

Regular Season Schedule:

3:30-4:15p    Preparatory Choir  ages 7-12 (no audition)
4:20-5:10p    Concert Choir  ages 8-12 (by audition/invitation)
4:20-5:30p Select Concert Choir ages 8-14 (by invitation)

The Bija Choir 2017-2018 begins on Sept 21st, with no classes on holiday and spring breaks. Mid-season entry starts Jan 12th, 2017.
Tuition Fees:  $350 for Full Season Sept- June;  $250 for Mid-Season entry Jan-June;  $150 for 12 wk fall session (available to Junior and Preparatory students only);  There is a once-annual materials fee of $25 for all Bija Choir students.

Gift Making for the Holidays

Beautiful hand-crafted items made by students to share with family and friends for the holiday season will all be gift-wrapped in handmade paper with handmade cards. Thoughtful and personalized gifts include gourd vessels, special boxes, and other projects to remain secret! This is a great way to experience the joy of gift-giving from the heart!

Mixed Media Photo Lab for Kids
Instructor: Justine Reichman

Come experience how mixed media can turn a photograph into something even more extraordinary. Instructor Justine Reichman will guide students through the process of seeing the world of possibilities in a single photo by exploring the addition of color, shapes, and textures. The only limit is your imagination! Students will first alter a print of a photo provided by the instructor, and then will alter a print of a photo they provide- a perfect opportunity to express yourself and to create a masterpiece based on exciting memories or moments your child has captured on film! One large photo print is included in class cost. $15 materials fee due to instructor on first day of class.
